‘Sunrise’ that we watched in Bagalkot!

 

'Sunrise' is a moment in the morning where the Sun slowly appears on the horizon. It is a slow process; one can watch it always on a clear sky. It is actually the rotatory motion of Earth in its axis that causes as though sun is rising.

I and my wife, Vasanthi, had a rare occasion on March 7, 2013 watching sunrise in Bagalkot, Karnataka State. We got up early in the morning and decided to take a stroll outside the beautiful BVVS Guesthouse where we were staying overnight during our visit to Gulbarga University.

Initially, it was twilight, golden-yellow coloured illumination of the sky by scattering sunlight below the horizon; we sat on a bench in the lawn outside the guesthouse and waited for the sun to rise. I quickly brought our camera and captured the slowly rising Sun.  It was a rare, distinct, but great moment that we enjoyed so much.
